- I am in my 76 year and I live in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, Spain, for health reasons, as I suffer from an incurable illness, and hajust had an op. to remove a tumour from th back of my nenck, Despite this I intend to spend my remaining years researching and promoting the Holistic Way of Life, in all its different aspects, as an holistic activist, in particular Holistic Governance and Planetary Healing. I think that it would be good idea to try to launch a "Obamacycle" site in every country, so that like minded people can voice their opinion, worldwide.
I sincerely believe in and support President Elect Barack Obama, and if I could, I would have voted for him. My reason is that I believe that when he becomes President of the United States of America, on the 20th. January 2009, he will bring with him the start of the first real holistic transparant, decontrolled, open minded and accountable democracy, which will benefit and affect not only Americans, but will be an example to people in the other 192 countries of the world, to remind them to re-think the way that they are governed and serving others, which will in turn, start to bring the concept of peace and service (usaservice.org) not war into the thoughts, words and deeds of mankind, perhaps for the first time in thousands of years. I thank all American voters, who have voted for him on behalf of the rest of the world. President Elect Barack Obama's election in 2008, marks an important moment in American and world Political History and I wish him and his administration well. Sincerely Mike

I would like to find out what he intends to do about the threat of Climate Change, which a great many scientists around the world now agree, at long last, exists and is already happening with superstorms, floods, fires, lightening, and ice melts in the Arctic, Antarctic and Greenland etc. which are affecting the the world sea currents with fresh water being mixed with salt water, and many other happenings which are being mentioned daily in the world News. In in this importand year of the election, it is very important that we also give thought to ways and means of offering help and protection to all the Earths life forms, not the least the human race, thereby reducing the effect of these issues, not only in the USA but world wide. Because when it happens, it will be sudden, and without further warning, nature is tired of the way that we are treating our Planet. The oil and coal industries and other companies, with vested interest in not wanting to stop global warming, are making huge profits and adding to the existing economic problems of hight costs. I see you're an ex-pat. living in Spain. ¡Qué bueno y Viva España! After reading your profile, may I offer you my sympathies and utmost respect for all that you advocate and represent as both a health care (allopathic) provider and as a holistic health advocate myself.
As to helping with the campaign, I would bet anything that your Spanish-Speaking skills would be overwhelmingly valuable to the Texas Obama HQ to get the word out to the Mexicano and Latino communities throughout the Lone Star State.
I would suggest checking out the TX HQ site at: tx.barackobama.com Mostly, they need Spanish speakers for phone banking. If you have low-cost international phonecalling abilities, this would be right up your alley and the number of calls you can make (even a dozen) can make a difference. Tell them Patch in Oregon sent you. :)
